National Energy Savings Experts Honored for Innovative Software

SEYMOUR, CT – Energy conservation and home insulation contractor Dr. Energy Saver is proud to announce that it has been awarded with a gold Connecticut Quality Improvement Award Innovation Prize. The national network of energy savings experts received the award for their GreenPro software that is available only to their franchisees. Dr. Energy Saver was honored with this award at CQIA’s 24th Annual Conference on Quality and Innovation in West Hartford last month.

The Connecticut Quality Improvement Award is America’s first state-level quality award that uses the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality for Performance Excellence criteria. The Connecticut Quality Improvement Award’s prestigious Innovation Prize is presented to organizations in Connecticut that have used innovation to create a new opportunity or solve an existing problem, and can demonstrate numerically the benefit to its business and customers.

“These are exactly the kind of businesses – and the kind of people behind them – that our economy needs right now, and Governor Malloy and I are committed to helping them and CQIA succeed,” said Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman. “The CQIA award program is a great way to showcase some of the incredible business talent that we have in Connecticut.”

Dr. Energy Saver’s GreenPro software is an exclusive sales software made for Dr. Energy Saver franchises. Available software that estimated the value of energy efficient upgrades is usually highly technical, basing its estimates on sweeping statistical generalizations. Before GreenPro there was no technology available that integrated data about the current condition of the home and the energy habits of its inhabitants into its formula. The home energy profile created by the GreenPro software factors in 372 different pieces of data about each home’s energy usage. This profile is made possible by the cumulative efforts of more than 15 years of extensive in-house building science research.

The contractor and homeowner can work together to input as many or as few factors as the homeowner would like – the more that are added, the more complete the energy profile becomes. This profile, which is up to 30 pages long, is a comprehensive report of where improvements can be made, and estimates on the cost of each improvement.  It also includes photos of problem areas in the home, with written professional explanations of each issue. The homeowner can also see how adding in one upgrade will affect the potential energy savings of another.

Dr. Energy Saver is a Connecticut-based network of the best energy-conservation contractors across the country who specialize in home insulation, and doing energy and comfort assessments quickly and efficiently. But Dr. Energy Saver doesn’t stop with the assessment; they also do the work, enabling homeowners to get maximum energy and cost-saving results with minimum hassle.
